Certain types of homes such as duplexes for example, may have two furnaces, electrical systems, and two hot water heaters to inspect. Townhomes may not need the outside inspected because those items are usually covered by the association so they may be less expensive. Depending on the age, an older home may have unique problems that need extra time to evaluate, such as outdated building material, outdated electrical systems, and outdated plumbing systems. So you can see these factors play an important part in determining price of an inspection.
